The Center will remain open unless the weather is very severe.You can call the Center phone and listen to the recording after 6:15 am or listen toWHDD (98.1 FM/1020 AM) or view Channel 3, WFSB and Channel 8, WTNH for a closing or delayed opening announcement for the Housatonic Child Care Center. Links for the websites for these stations are below. If the center is open but you choose not to bring your child, please contact us as soon as possible. Remember we DO NOT follow the Region I closing schedule.
If a major storm should arrive during the day and an early dismissal is necessary you will be called at the number on your emergency card. It’s important that your phone numbers be current and accurate for those emergency calls so please update your card regularly. We will always have a contact sheet on days with unpredictable weather.
In the case that we should have to close or (the Governor declares a winter storm warning for the state or northwest corner), please make a backup plan now so you have childcare.
